INNOVATIVE WORK REPORT
PARTS OF SPEECH WHEEL
The Parts of Speech Wheel is an innovative educational tool designed to transform abstract grammatical concepts into a tactile, interactive learning experience. By organizing the eight primary parts of speech into a colorful, rotating format, the model provides students with a visual and kinesthetic way to categorize words and understand their functional roles within sentences. This approach moves beyond traditional rote memorization, fostering active engagement and improved language acquisition as students use the wheel to analyze text and build sentences with greater accuracy and confidence.
The classroom demonstration of the wheel successfully transitioned the lesson from theoretical grammar to an interactive, hands-on experience. By physically rotating the wheel to reveal definitions and examples under each flap, students were able to visualize the relationships between different word categories, such as how adjectives modify nouns or how adverbs describe actions. This tactile engagement not only clarified the functional roles of the eight parts of speech but also served as a powerful reinforcement tool, boosting student confidence and accuracy in sentence analysis.
