Teaching Internship Phase II - Reflective Journal (Week 1)

INTRODUCTION 

As part of our B. Ed curriculum we six student teachers of Sree Narayana Training College Nedunganda went to Govt. Model Boys Higher Secondary School Attingal for our teaching internship phase Il. Our group consisted of three students from English optional and three students from Social Science optional. The first day of second phase teaching practice was on 17/11/2025

DAY 1 - 17/11/2025

Today was the first day of our second phase of Teaching Internship. I reached the school at 9:15 a.m. On reaching the school we went to meet the headmaster to give him the attendance register and the letter from college. After that all of us signed the attendance register. Then I went to meet my concerned teacher. I miet Saija Rani teacher and asked her permission to take the fourth period in IX A. I got a substitution period in IX A in the second period. During this period, I introduced myself and asked them to introduce themselves. In the fourth period I started the chapter Walk Alone. During the lunch break all of us went to the noon meals serving spot to observe the proceedings. We left the school today 3:45 p.m.

DAY 2 - 18/11/2025

Today I reached the school at 9:10 a.m. My class was at fifth period. So I had the morning free. I used that time to write the lesson templates for the upcoming classes as I didn't get any substitution class. At one o'clock, the senior teacher asked all the student teachers to assemble in the staffroom for a meeting.
In that meeting, she told us about the key exchange ceremony on the next day. In the fifth period, I went to IX A to take the class. In the evening, I left the school at 3:40 p.m., after the students left.

DAY 3 - 19/11/2025

Today I reached the school at 9:00 a.m. The NSS family of GBHSS Attingal organised a key exchange ceremony today. The DGP of Kerala was the cheif guest. The SPC, NCC, JRC and NSS volunteers of the school along with the teachers, students and all the staff members organised to welcome the DGP at the gate. Along with the key exchange ceremony, prize winners of several competitions were given medals. The DGP left the school after the ceremony. Today I took class in the second period. At 9:10 a.m., all of the student teachers from SNTC Nedunganda went to serve the morning breakfast. After that, we went to attend the ceremony. In the afternoon, at 12:20, all of us went to serve the noon meals. At 3:00 p.m., the whole school assembled at the school ground for an assembly.
 
DAY 4 - 20/11/2025

Today, I reached the school at 9:15 a.m. Today, my class was at 6th period. As I got the morning free, I used that time to write the lesson templates. During the 6th period I went to IX A to take the class. My concerned teacher, Saija Rani tr observed my class today. She told me that I can continue taking the lessons this way. Today, I left the school at 3:40 p.m. 

DAY 5 - 21/11/2025

Today I reached the school at 9:10 a.m. On reaching the school, I went to the headmaster's office to sign the attendance register. I greeted the headmaster and went to the room assigned for us. Originally, today, the class was supposed to be till 4:00 p.m., as it was friday but today the class was only till 3:30 p.m. My period today was at the 6th period and I had the morning free, so I used that time to prepare the lesson templates. Today, I started a new chapter, Toys to Teens. I left the school today at 3:40 p.m.

Internship Phase I Reflective Journal (Week 10)

Day 43 22/09/2025 Today I reached the school at 7:45 a.m. and after having breakfast, we wrapped the prizes for the winners of the competition held as part of the conscientization programme on the topic Health, hygieine and awareness. At 9.15 a.m., we signed the morning attendance and asked the permission of the headmistress to distribute the prizes during the school assembly. The assembly began with prayer and pledge by the students, followed by a short talk by the headmistress. Afterwards, Rohini invited the headmistress to distribute the prizes to the winners of the competition. Karishma called the students to the stage. Today Rani Miss came to observe classes. As Chitra miss have already done my class observation, I didn't have class observation today. Today I had period on the second period.
