Internship Phase I Reflective Journal (Week 5)

Day 21 - 11/08/2025

Today I reached the school at 8:00 am. Today I had class on the second period. I started the chapter 'The Toilet' written by Gcina Mhlope. During the lunch break, some of us went to serve the food for the students. We left the school today at 3:50 p.m.

Day 22 - 12/08/2025

Today, I reached the school at 7:45 a.m. Today I had class at the fifth period, which was after the lunch break. Our Physical Education teacher Biju sir had informed us that he will come to our school for observation and we should submit four lesson plans. When we were awaiting his arrival, Chithra miss surprised us by coming to our school for observation. Chithra miss observed my class on the fourth period which was originally a Social Science period. After Chithra miss' observation, Biju sir observed my class and I submitted my lesson plans. We left the school today at 3:45 p.m.

Day 23 - 13/08/2025

Today I reached the school at 7:40 a.m. After eating our breakfast, Our English optional teacher, Reetha miss called me at 8:30 a.m. and informed us that she will come for class observation today and asked us to arrange the classes accordingly. She reached the school at 9:40 and went to observe the class of Karishma in the first period. I took the second period in IX C which was originally a Malayalam period. After that she went to observe the class of Aiswarya. We left the school today at 3:50 p.m.

Day 24 - 14/08/2025

Today I reached school at 7:45 a.m. Today I went to IX C in the second period. The strength of the class was poor. After the fourth period I went to serve food for the students. In the seventh period, as IX C was free, I took class there. As the room we are currently sitting was supposed to be the exam room, we had to move from there. We took our things and went to a classroom on the third floor. We left school today at 3:50 p.m.

Day 25 - 15/08/2025

Today I reached the school at 9:20 a.m. Today was a very special day as we celebrated Independence Day in our school. The program began at 9:00 am with the flag hoisting by our PTA President along with our Headmistress. Later, during the common assembly, our MLA, Shri V. Joy, hoisted the national flag. It was such a proud moment to see the tricolour flying high.
The formal function started with a welcome speech by our school manager. Our MLA, Shri V. Shashi, gave the presidential address and reminded us about the struggles of our freedom fighters. There was also an award ceremony to honour the cadets, which inspired everyone. Shri R. Subash, the District Panchayat member, gave a felicitation speech. Finally, our Headmistress, Smt. Sindhu, delivered the vote of thanks.
Afterwards, the cultural programs began. Students from KG, UP, HS, and HSS performed songs, dances, and skits. The whole atmosphere was filled with patriotic spirit. The programmes commenced.

Day 26 - 16/08/2025

Today I reached the school at 7 45 am. Today was a Saturday and the school was following Friday's timetable. Only few students were present today. In the afternoon the students were shown films. A group of students were shown Aadujeevitham and another group were shown Padman. The school knocked off for the day at 2:45 p.m. today.
