Internship Phase I - Reflective Journal (Week 4)

DAY 16 - 04/08/2025

Today I reached the school at 7:30 a.m. There was an assembly today. The main objective of the assembly was to conduct the programme 'ചങ്ങാതിക്കൊരു മരം'. The programme was conducted to ensure that there is at least one tree in one home. Every student present there participated in the programme and they exchanged saplings. The headmistress told everyone the reason and importance for conducting the programme. Before dispersing the assembly, it was announced that there will be a poster writing competition on the basis of Hiroshima and Nagasaki day on the next day. All the students are expected to participate and they were asked bring the essentials to participate the competition. Today I had class on the second period on IX C. I continued with the chapter Dreams Realised written by Mahadev Desai today. During the noon meals serving, some of us went to serve food for the students. After the lunch break I had no class, so I used that time to write my remaining lesson plans. We left school today at 3:55 p.m.

DAY 17 - 05/08/2025

Today, I reached the school at 9:25 a.m. Today was Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day, remembering the victims of the nuclear attack on Japan. There was a poster writing competition for the students of UP and HS section. Many students participated in the competition and it was a success. 

There was also a book fest in the school. Books were sold at a cheap price. Today I had class on the fifth period. I continued the chapter Dreams Realised by Mahadev Desai. I left school today at 4:00 p.m. 

DAY 18 - 06/08/2025

Today was August 6, Hiroshima Day. The world mourns the death of the victims of nuclear bombings in Hiroshima by the United States today. There was a rally organised in school including the students of JRC, SPC, etc to remind everyone that war is not a solution. They shouted slogans and showed placards against war.

Today, after the 6th period, selected students from 9th and 8th standard had football training. They were asked to bring sports dress and boots. Today my class was at the fifth period and then I got an extra period in 9 C at the sixth period. I continued with my portions today. We left the school at 4:00 p.m. 

DAY 19 - 07/08/2025

Today, I reached the school at 7:50 a.m. I had class on the second period. I continued with the chapter Dreams Realised. As the fifth period was free, I also took that period for IX C. Because of that, today, I finished the chapter Dreams Realised by Mahadev Desai. Today I left the school at 3:50 p.m.

DAY 20 - 08/08/2025

Today I reached the school at 7:45 a.m. There was an assembly today. Medal and certificate was given to the students who won a Karate competition. The first and third place winners were from our school. The prizes and certificates for the students were given in the school assembly.

Today I class at fourth period. Today I taught the topic 'Imagery' using the Concept Attainment Model. The students effectively formed their hypotheses and reached at the concept by themselves. Today we left the school at 3:55 p.m.
