Internship Phase 1 - Reflective Journal (Week 3)

Day 11 - 28/07/2025

Today I reached the school at 7:45 a.m. Today I had class on the second period. But there was an assembly during that time. An assembly was arranged at 10:00 am for the whole school complex including SCVBHS, SSVGHSS, LP section of the Noble group of schools and the KG section. The assembly was arranged as part of the tenth death anniversary of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. Speeches were given on the life and achievements of our former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. Group director of VSSC was the resource person of today's programme. The programme began with the prayer from School choir. PTA president gave the presidential address. During the lunch break, We went to the noon meals section to serve the food. I served rice to the students. As there was no free period in IX C, I was not able to take the class today. We left the school at 4:00 p.m.

Day 12 - 29/07/2025

Today I reached school at 7:30 a.m. It was the last day of the NSS camp. When I reached their, the NSS volunteers were all packed up and ready to leave. After signing the attendance register, the headmistress sent us to various classrooms without teacher to take the attendance. I was sent to V A. Out of six, only three were present. I had class today at the fifth period. The class went well and I presented to the students my second lesson template from the chapter, Nothing Twice written by Wislawa Szymborska. I also made them  write the author profile which most of them did. After the class I met with my concerned teacher and she told me to give the appreciation of the poem to the students. There was some electrical problems in the school today and electrical connection wasn't established even when we left the school. We left the school at 3: 55 p.m.

Day 13 - 30/07/2025

Today I reached school at 7:35 a.m. At 9 o'clock our English Optional Teacher Dr. Reetha Ravi called and told us that she would be coming to inspect our class. She asked us to arrange the classes accordingly. So I met Soorya teacher who was meant to take the first period, which was Hindi to ask her permission to take the first period. There was a silent prayer conducted at 10:00 a.m. in memorial of those who lost lives in the Wayanad landslide disaster that happened a year back on this day. Reetha miss came and observed my class. I finished the chapter Nothing Twice today. Then she watched Karishma's and then Aishwarya's class. After seeing Aishwarya's class she left the school.
The fifth period was my designated period today. I used that period to teach types of pronouns using advanced organizer method. In the last period I went to VIII B as no teacher was there. I stayed in that class till the end of the school. We left school today at 4:00 p.m.

Day 14 - 31/07/2025

Today I reached the school at 7:30 a.m. I had class in the second period. Today I started the chapter Dreams Realised by Mahadev Desai. Today there was a school inspection and the Assistant Education Officer came to visit the school. I also got seventh period as a substitution period and I took the remaining portion of the chapter. We left the school at 3:55 p.m.

Day 15 - 01/08/2025

Today I reached the school at 8:30 a.m. Today the physical science student teachers had class observation as their optional teacher Viji miss came to visit the school. I had class on the fourth period and then I got substitution period on the fifth period on IX C. I continued with the chapter Dreams Realised today. We left the school today by 3:50 p.m.
